Customers who have successfully switched to SaaS
View all Case studiesThe future is SaaS
About 10 years ago, we looked to the future and saw the need to deliver a cloud-based solution. Shortly after this, our global SaaS ERP solution was born. Since then, we have pivoted our business to SaaS and successfully transitioned two thirds of our on-premise customers to our SaaS platform. The efficiency, security and functionality are so far superior in a SaaS model, which is why we believe this is the right thing to do.
Our number one priority now is to move our remaining on-premise customers to SaaS, as we begin to phase out our on-premise software.
Transition timeline
Our priority is to move our on-premise customers to SaaS, however we know this takes careful thought and planning. Start by reviewing what’s changing to evaluate your options.

Explore SaaS transition
After the end of support date, TechnologyOne will no longer provide technical support for any issues, security updates, or bug fixes for critical vulnerabilities. Regular security updates help protect your business from threats and vulnerabilities, so we recommend moving to our highly secure SaaS platform before the end of support date.

Frequently asked questions
What is SaaS?
Our SaaS ERP solution is a single instance of software delivered globally, with a mass production line of servers running thousands of customers’ organisations. It produces substantial economies of scale, creating cost efficiencies that hosting providers cannot come close to, and a level of service, security, reliability, scalability and future proofing that would not be otherwise possible.
If I have a perpetual licence, how much will it cost to move to SaaS?
We will only charge you the incremental fee, which gives you access to our global SaaS operating environment on the TechnologyOne SaaS platform.
Our SaaS platform is competitively priced and delivers operational efficiencies, as the entire environment is managed by us including automatic upgrades, patch management, compliance obligations and ongoing support. That means less in-house time spent on operational IT support, freeing up resources to be redeployed into other parts of the business.
What will I get for my Annual Services and Maintenance fee going forward?
Your Annual Services & Maintenance fee covers automatic upgrades, bug fixes, patch management and ongoing support. The ongoing payment of this fee ensures you can seamlessly move your on-premise solution to our SaaS platform.
What does ‘turning off’ support mean?
This means TechnologyOne’s Support team will no longer assist you if you remain on premise. We strongly encourage you to move to our SaaS platform to remain fully supported.
What’s included in the regulatory updates?
Regulatory updates include any compliance changes to our software that have been mandated by the government.
What are my options?
We know it takes careful thought to evaluate your options and choose what’s right for you.
- If you choose to remain on premise, you will no longer be supported when we turn off support on 1 October 2024.
- If you choose to transition to the TechnologyOne SaaS platform, you will continue to benefit from ongoing support, new features and enhancements.
- If you have any concerns about how this change will impact your organisation, please contact our SaaS transition team.
How long does the transition process take?
Typically, completing the transition to SaaS takes about eight to 12 weeks (for Financials, Supply Chain Management, Corporate Performance Management and Human Resources & Payroll), but this can vary greatly depending on your technical requirements and the complexities involved. TechnologyOne has a Resource Calculator to help forecast how many resources will be needed to complete a specific SaaS transition project.
Who can I contact if I have a question?
We have a dedicated Transition team set up to assist with any questions. Please contact your customer account manager for any questions about your transition journey.
Benefits of SaaS
New evidence suggests Cloud technologies, in particular SaaS, have the potential to deliver substantial cost savings to organisations. The savings come from reductions in the cost of ICT ownership and maintenance, and productivity improvements associated with the automation and simplification of business processes.
